My Poetry

Before I moved in my Freshman year, I lived in a house on the edge of town.  Across the street from it, there was a gully.  This is its story:

Life Lessons

In that gully, I learned
how to drive a go-kart
and turn really sharp,
how to talk with friends
and matters of the heart.

In that gully, I learned
how to start a fire
and find certain stars,
the best way to dance
on the hood of cars.

In that gully, I learned
how hard it is to say goodbuy
to the one that leaves you behind
how to hold the tears you want to cry
and hold that smile on your face

In that gully, I learned
how to live life
and how to go crazy and just be me
